Nantgarw – Taffs Well Circular

The walks starts in Tawelfryn, Nantgarw. Following the dual carriageway from the Caerphilly Garden Centre roundabout, turn right at the traffic lights into the estate and then immediately left. (Those coming along the A470 will need to turn up the hill towards Caerphilly and then right at the traffic lights.)

The walk takes us down the old road and across the footbridge over the A470.  We descend to the roundabout on the main road.  Here we pick up the footpath on the old railway embankment which leads us to Taffs Well.  Here we cross the river and follow the path on the Gwaelod -y-Garth side of the Taff recrossing river on the footbridge at the south of the town. Here we pick up the the Taff Trail past the new Metro Depot. .  We leave this to the right and make our way to the higher Taff Trail, which brings us back to our start in Nantgarw.
