Meet in the turning on the right hand side of the main Blackwood to Tredegar road after passing Markham, (just before you get to Hollybush). It is an old colliery site with a sweeping turn and a large recently built natural stone wall. After turning in the road reaches a dead end after about 50 yards. If you see the signs for Hollybush you have gone a few hundred yards too far.

8 Miles.
After crossing the old colliery site and following the valley north for 1.5 miles, we then climb onto the top of Manmoel Common (pausing for our coffee break on the way). From there we will have views over Ebbw Vale from above the old Festival Park. We turn south to the village of Manmoel where we take our lunch break. We then descend through the woods eventually pick up the route of the old railway track heading north up the valley towards the the old colliery site which we crossed initially.
