Directions to start :- Take A 468 through Bedwas and Trethomas into Machen. After passing the school turn sharp right at the pharmacy. Turn right again just before the river bridge. Large car park we have used fairly regularly.
Route of walk :- Machen > Draethen > Ruperra Fort > banks and meadows along the Rhymney River > the Iron Bridge
