We return along the high ground descending to pass the Dolygaer outdoor pursuits centre. \n.After the initial climb the walk is along open moorland.

Continue straight on at the Bedwas Bridge roundabout and pass behind Lansbury park Estate.  Turn left when you reach Van road.  The car park is on the left just before the hill up to Rudry Common. (This avoids the 4-way traffic lights at Asda)

DESCRIPTION:8 miles moderate \nStart from Abertridwr   http://what3words.com///freedom.lawfully.adopts \n9:30 start (or leaving Ystrad Mynach at 9:00 for those wishing to car share) \nDirections  – :travelling form Ystrad Mynach  – leave the Caerphilly bypass at the Trecentdd Roundabout (the one between the Cedar Tree and the Garden Centre) taking the right turn (3rd exit).  Go through the traffic lights and take the first exit (left) at the next mini roundabout.  Follow the road to Abertridwr.  In the town square the main road takes a sharp right \, ignore this and go straight on up  the hill (there is an eyecatching grey Nisi shop on the junction converted from an old hotel).  Signed for EGLWYSILAN.  Park on the side of the road just past the Royal Hotel. \nThe walk takes us up the valley on a what was the old railway line.  We then climb upon to the mooorland above the valley and follow the old Senghenydd Dyke towards the three radio towers (which overlook Pontypridd and are an easy to spot landmark).  We then drop down to Eglwysilan church and back to the start. There are marvelous views across the valleys and hills of the area throughout the walk.  Binoculars and cameras suggested..

DESCRIPTION:Starting at Blaen Y Gwyn UPPER car park 10 am we drop down into lower car park onto loose gravel path\, through woods\, over footbridges to meet stream\, walking alongside the stream (muddy\, gaiters and poles a good idea).  There are a series of small waterfalls.  After a break will climb up to Gwalciau’r Cwm.  Then follow ridge to Carn Pica.  After lunch break will cross open moorland to the Wellington Bomber Memorial.  Picking up another path into the Beacons Way.  There’s a steep section dropping back down to the car park.\n9 km\nStarting at: \nSO 05624 17593 \nhttp://What3words.com///dugouts.nuzzling.fame
