The 10K run\, which is taking place in Caerphilly\, has required the closing of the road from the Cedar Tree Roundabout down to the Bedwas Bridge Roundabout \nA moderate 8 mile walk on the hills overlooking Llanbradach\, Ystrad Myach and Caerphilly passing the bluebell woods. We return along the river bank from the footbridge near Pwllypant. \nThe car park we have used in the past at the Community Centre has been closed off and so we will need to park in the nearby side streets.  To limit inconvenience to residents would you please meet at Ystrad Mynach and car share to reduce the parking problem.

DESCRIPTION:Meet in the turning on the right hand side of the main Blackwood to Tredegar road after passing Markham\, (just before you get to Hollybush).  It is an old colliery site with a sweeping turn and a large recently built natural stone wall. We then descend through the woods eventually pick up the route of the old railway track heading north up the valley towards the the old colliery site which we crossed initially.

DESCRIPTION:Leader Gwyn Smith 07742 580506 \nMeet at Ystrad Mynach at 9:00 for a 10:00 start \nDirections Take A467 Crumlyn > Aberbeeg > Abertillery \nAt traffic lights turn right (almost a U turn) Signed Cwmtillery (follow brown ‘Picnic and tree’ signs) \nTurn left (signed Cwmtillery and ‘picnic’ sign) \nStraight on at ‘Give Way up hill and after 30 yards fork left continuing to climb. \nAfter school and sports field turn left at crossroads (do not go straight on into industrial estate) \nAfter 20 yards turn right. \nAfter half a mile the road curves right and descends. Turn left at the bottom.
