(sat nav should now by back ‘on song’). This road takes a right turn in the village of Llanfair Discoed\, passes the Woodlands Tavern and eventually brings you to the car park just below the road on the left.  (If you continue up a hill to the car park on the top on the right at Cadeira Beeches you have gone too far) \nThe walk starts from the Forester’s Oaks Car Park

DESCRIPTION:Meet in the turning on the right hand side of the main Blackwood to Tredegar road after passing Markham\, (just before you get to Hollybush).  It is an old colliery site with a sweeping turn and a large recently built natural stone wall. We then descend through the woods eventually pick up the route of the old railway track heading north up the valley towards the the old colliery site which we crossed initially.

DESCRIPTION:Meet at Ystrad Mynach Car park 8.45 am for car sharing \nA walk along forest tracks and along the ridge way affording views across the Bristol Channel and of Gilfach Goch.  Descending to Llanharan village before returning to the forest. \nLeave A470 at Upper Boat (Tesco’s) and follow the A473 towards Talbot Green.  At Talbot Green Roundabout turn right onto A4119 signposted for Royal Glamorgan Hospital.  Continue past the hospital and the dual carriage way changes to a single carriageway with a speed limit. Continue to the next roundabout and turn sharp left (almost back on yourself).  Follow the lane under a railway bridge.  After about a quarter of a mile the car park is on the right in the woods. \nhttp://what3words.com///spared.blunders.heap \n

Turn left at the bottom.
