DESCRIPTION:8 miles moderate \nStart from Abertridwr   http://what3words.com///freedom.lawfully.adopts \n9:30 start (or leaving Ystrad Mynach at 9:00 for those wishing to car share) \nDirections  – :travelling form Ystrad Mynach  – leave the Caerphilly bypass at the Trecentdd Roundabout (the one between the Cedar Tree and the Garden Centre) taking the right turn (3rd exit).  Go through the traffic lights and take the first exit (left) at the next mini roundabout.  Follow the road to Abertridwr.  In the town square the main road takes a sharp right \, ignore this and go straight on up  the hill (there is an eyecatching grey Nisi shop on the junction converted from an old hotel).  Signed for EGLWYSILAN.  Park on the side of the road just past the Royal Hotel. \nThe walk takes us up the valley on a what was the old railway line.  We then climb upon to the mooorland above the valley and follow the old Senghenydd Dyke towards the three radio towers (which overlook Pontypridd and are an easy to spot landmark).  We then drop down to Eglwysilan church and back to the start. There are marvelous views across the valleys and hills of the area throughout the walk.  Binoculars and cameras suggested..
